Amanda Seyfried Shared a Never-Before-Seen “Mean Girls” Throwback

It’s been a long time since the days of “fetch” and “grool” (17 years in fact!) but the cast of Mean Girls is just as nostalgic for the iconic film as we are. Luckily, Amanda Seyfried is ready to take us all on a trip down memory lane straight to North Shore High School.

The actor who played Karen in the hit 2004 comedy recently shared a photo of several key cast members hanging out while filming. “#FBF weekends in 2003,” Amanda captioned the pic, which is very clearly a physical photograph—taken on a disposable camera, perhaps? After all, it was the early aughts.

In the ‘gram, Amanda is seen standing beside co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Franzese, and Lizzy Caplan. Everything about the photo—from the fashion to the hairstyles to the room decor—screams early 2000s, and the nostalgia is real. Amanda’s post soon racked up over 600,000 likes at the time of writing, with plenty of comments from fans and stars alike—including several of the tagged cast members.

“You look just as young and beautiful still!” Daniel, who played Damian, wrote, adding in another comment, “Ohhh emmm geeee!” Jonathan—AKA Aaron Samuels—described the group as “babies” while Lacey weighed in to reflect on the “so many good memories” the cast once shared. Lindsay also commented, writing, “Such a fun time! A great team!”

Since its debut in 2004, Mean Girls has continued to live on in the form of a direct-to-TV sequel, a Broadway musical, and there’s even an upcoming movie-musical adaptation in the works. As Daniel once said, Mean Girls might even be around in a post-apocalyptic world. We’re pretty sure Regina George wouldn’t have it any other way.
