NCT, WayV, and SuperM star Ten Lee has added some much-needed color to our day with his brand-new single. Released on August 10, Ten’s “Paint Me Naked” is his first solo song in three years, following 2018’s “New Heroes” and “Dream in a Dream” the year before that. And, along with the pop-punk-tinged summer bop, came a video full of as much style, energy, and paint splatter as we’ve come to expect from SM Entertainment’s resident artist.
Fans will be aware of Ten’s artistic flare outside of music already. He recently designed a collection with Represent full of his own artwork; his love of painting was the source of focus for a SuperM teaser video last year; and, as part of the run-up to the release of “Paint Me Naked,” he posted official teaser images updated with his own doodles and stickers. It’s no surprise that these fun, joyful elements of his personality are on show in “Paint Me Naked,” which uses art as a metaphor for the freedom of young love. At times blending the quasi nonexistent line between fashion and art, the music video for the song is also full of incredible outfits from brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Below, we look at five standout looks included in the video:
1. Goofing Around in Gucci and Kangol
The video opens with Ten dancing down the street in a roll-sleeved green Gucci tee, a red Kangol hat, and pearl necklaces and bracelets galore. It’s a look we jump back to throughout the video, as we watch him play around with his crew, who are dressed in equally bright and casual outfits. As a starting point, we can already tell this video is going to take us on a colorful and poppy journey.
