“PLL: Original Sin” Rounds Out Its Core Friends With Actors Zaria, Malia Pyles

The upcoming Pretty Little Liars reboot, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, has finally cast its titular quintet. As reported by Deadline on August 18, Malia Pyles and Zaria have joined the forthcoming HBO Max reboot.

Zaria will take on the role of Faran, a character that is described as “a poised, disciplined ballerina with aspirations to make it out of Millwood.” The series will see Faran fighting the series main villain, A, but also grappling with the hyper-competitive nature of the ballet, which is said to be “death by a thousand microaggressions.”

Malia, on the other hand, will play Minnie, aka the youngest of the new five-person entourage. “Having survived a childhood trauma, Minnie spends most of her time in a virtual world, but she is more than capable of taking on the dark forces of Millwood — including ‘A,’” her character’s description reads.

The addition of Zaria and Malia to the cast (joining Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, and Bailee Madison, who were all previously announced) means we finally have our final five.

“And then there were five. Our quintet of Pretty Little Liars (aka Stunning Empowered Final Girls) is complete!” series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Instagram, sharing the first pic of the quintet together. “Can’t wait to join you in our bubble of thrills and chills! Now the only iconic character missing is…[A].”

According to Just Jared Jr., production for the upcoming series already began last week, and filming is slated to start in upstate New York on August 23.
