The Met Gala 2021 Red Carpet Has Officially Started

After a year and a half on hiatus, the Met Gala 2021 has arrived, and one thing’s for certain: It’s just as fabulous as ever before. Centering around the theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” the night honors legendary American designers and their impact throughout fashion’s history. The COVID-19 pandemic paused most of the world for 18 months and a night of celebration like this one is much needed to kickstart a fashion renaissance.

The Met Gala 2021 — with Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, and Naomi Osaka as co-chairs — is taking place only one day after New York Fashion Week ended, so it’s safe to say the city is more than ready for fashion galore. With safety protocols still in place, the 2021 Met Gala is set to be a far more intimate affair than in years prior, but just as spectacular. Zendaya might have been unable to attend, but thanks to the world’s top celebrities and fashion names, there will be no shortage of looks to obsess over.

A deep dive into American fashion may not seem as glamorous as previous themes like “Camp: Notes on Fashion” or “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” but the 2021 Met Gala promises to not disappoint – and expectations are higher than ever before!

Below, check out most of the ensembles of the evening, and be sure to check back as we update the piece with more arrivals!
